When Chris and I left Corcoran, almost everyone told us we were making a mistake.
Clients and colleagues said that walking away from the brand name, support, and resources would cost us.
Eight years later, we've never looked back.
One of the biggest reasons we chose to build an intentionally boutique brokerage comes down to a deal I still think about.
Years ago, we helped a repeat client sell their THIRD home with us. We listed it for $4 million, received an offer from an upstairs neighbor after the first open house, and closed a seamless + quick condo deal.
Our client paid $240,000 in commission.
It reinforced something Chris and I had talked about for years: a one-size-fits-all real estate doesn't always reflect the work or experience behind a transaction.
That experience became one of the reasons we built SIMPLE Real Estate. So that we could be intentionally boutique.
Today, our representation reflects the work involved—not simply the price of the home. It gives us the flexibility to reward long-term relationships, recognize when a transaction is unusually straightforward, and tailor our approach to each client rather than relying on a standardized model.
For us, being boutique has never been about being "anti-corporate." It's about staying agile, listening closely, and creating a more thoughtful, client-first experience.
That's what keeping it SIMPLE means to us. 💚
